The details of the latest Xbox One system software update in the Preview program have been revealed. New features have been added to the console system to make it more convenient for the owners.
Xbox One owners who are currently preview members and chose to test the Xbox One summer update will get the chance to try out a new build. According to the official private forums of the Preview Program, Microsoft has numbered the new update as rs1_xbox_rel_1608.1607-1925. It has a lot of new content for the members to try out, and some features are particularly helpful.
The new update also introduced a new feature, which lets console owners manage leftover add-ons easily. It was difficult to manage the leftover add-ons previously because they needed to install the game again to remove or organize them. The game company fixed this issue by adding a new option in Settings to help the players manage their leftover add-ons.
Players can finally relax when they uninstall games and want to leave the add-ons associated with the game. The interface for the new feature will display the add-ons, and it will allow them to uninstall the add-on contents whenever they want.
Updates can now be viewed on the new Updates tab, which can be located on the My games and apps option. Selecting the tab will allow console owners to install the available updates. For consoles that have the Instant-On mode turned on, the updates will automatically install.
The new update also fixed different issues on features of the console system, which has plagued it for a while. For the Xbox Universal Store, users who have their profiles set to Lock It Down will no longer be able to purchase Xbox 360 backward compatible games without entering their passwords. The update also fixed an issue where some Store pages for purchased games displayed a Buy button instead of an Install button.
The log of the newest system update also shared the current known issues it has. Some issues affected the Xbox Universal Store, Movies and TV, Payments and Billing, and other features of the console system. The developers are doing their best to remedy these issues as soon as possible.
In other news, the house of Xbox is preparing to test out the first Universal Window App, according to Dual Shockers. The distribution of the new app has begun recently, and the game company is choosing the top 20,000 Preview members. The app update might not appear right away, but it will be available over the next 24 hours for those who have been selected.
Furthermore, there will be some few noticeable differences between the old Blu-Ray Player app and the new Blu-Ray version. The company is asking the preview members to give feedback on problems or any unexpected behavior of the new app.
