Nathan Sykes is reportedly planning to have a collaboration with Sam Smith as he was interviewed by E! News and he has nothing but high praises for his co-British artist.
In the interview, Sykes said that if all goes well, he might actually make music with Smith. He shares that he and Smith have spoken before about going into the studio together and it's very much likely to happen possibly by 2016. He called the idea insane and cool as it would be a really great opportunity for them to create something.
The former member of the band The Wanted said in the interview that he is actually working on his solo debut album and that his inspirations are Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Adele revealing that he has been a bit biased when it comes to the Britons. He added that his album is actually geared towards soulful pop.
Sykes also talked about being in the band before as he thinks people saw him as a baby-faced member of the band and that he sang a couple of verses from the song "Glad You Came" pointing out that his solo album will be an opportunity for him to show that he could produce great music.
According to Sykes, one of the songs was actually about his break-up with Ariana Grande but noted that it's a very nice break-up song and he did not throw any shade against the singer. The two actually had a collaboration when they sang Grande's song entitled "Almost Is Never Enough".
According to MTV, Sykes wants to be known as a very kindhearted person so there really won't be anything bitter in his songs regarding the track about his past relationship with Grande.
Sykes also talked about being single as of the moment as he shares that he has been very busy since 2014.
