"Uncontrollably Fond" cast members Bae Suzy and Kim Woo Bin recently talked about their new KBS2 drama. Meanwhile, first-week viewership ratings posted a drop in numbers for the drama's second episode.
Korean celebrities Kim Woo Bin and Bae Suzy's new drama "Uncontrollably Fond" has some very big shoes to fill. The said KBS2 drama has followed a similar production and release strategy as the hugely popular "Descendants of the Sun." Prior its debut, the two stars' new TV drama project has raised the expectations of many fans.
In an interview with "Entertainment Relay" that aired on Saturday, July 9, the "Heirs" actor shared his thoughts on the comparison between "Uncontrollably Fond" and the hit drama that starred Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo. Kim Woo Bin commented that the new KBS2 drama has been receiving a lot of fan interest given the success of "Descendants of the Sun," allkpop reported. He also mentioned that they received a good deal in being compared to the said Korean hit drama.
On the other hand, Miss A girl group member Bae Suzy shared her thoughts about her role and why she decided to take on the acting challenge for the KBS2 drama, as indicated in the same report. The singer confessed that when she read the drama's synopsis, she found her character charming and lovable. She also revealed that the opportunity to showcase a wide range of emotions was a factor that drew her to join the drama.
Bae Suzy portrays the role of a production director named No Eul who shares a complicated history with Kim Woo Bin's character, famous star Shin Joon Young. The two characters met and fell in love with each other when they were young. A tragic incident splits them apart until they meet again after several years to film a documentary project.
In other news, "Uncontrollably Fond" debuted on Wednesday, July 6, with a nationwide viewership rating of 12.5 percent, according to Nielsen Korea. However, the ratings dropped to 11.5 percent for the drama's second episode that aired on Thursday, July 7. It is expected that the said KBS2 drama will show a boost in ratings for its upcoming episodes.
"Uncontrollably Fond" airs every Wednesday and Thursday in Korea on KBS2.
