Fred Savage just turned 40 on July 9, which was days after the release of the "Pokémon Go" game. When he co-hosted "Live!" on July 13, Wednesday, "The Grinder" alum told Kelly Ripa that he was too old to play with the little pocket monsters.
Aside from telling Ripa that he should not be playing "Pokemon Go," Savage also revealed the gift he received from his daughter for his 40th birthday. He said when asked by the salesman what her father likes, his daughter said, "Well, he really likes co-hosting with Kelly."
It is rumored that Savage is going to be the next regular co-host of Ripa on "Live!" as former NFL star Michael Strahan's replacement. On April 19, Strahan confirmed that he would be leaving the show to start working full-time on "Good Morning America."
The guests interviewed by Ripa and Savage on July 13, Wednesday, were "Gossip Girl" alum Blake Lively and "Mr. Robot" actor Rami Malek. On the big screen, the former is starring in Woody Allen's "Café Society" while the latter is set to star in Sarah Adina Smith's "Buster's Mal Heart."
On the other hand, Savage has yet to return to the big screen since the 2011 comedy film "Being Bin Laden." His first movie was the 1986 film "The Boy Who Could Fly," which also starred Lucy Deakis, Jay Underwood and Bonnie Bedelia.
Savage was nine years old when he made his debut on the small screen. He appeared on the show "Morningstar/Eveningstar."
In 1989, Savage starred in the comedy family film "Little Monsters" opposite Howie Mandel and Daniel Stern. In the same year, Savage played Corey Woods in "The Wizard" with Christian Slater as Nick Woods, Beau Bridges as Sam Woods and Luke Edwards as the title character.
On the small screen, Savage joined the voice cast of "Generator Rex" from 2010 to 2013. He also voiced Goober in "BoJack Horseman" Season 1 episode 13, which aired on Dec. 19, 2014.
From 2015 to 2016, Savage played Stewart Sanderson in "The Grinder." Watch a clip of the actor's reunion with "Fuller House" star Candace Cameron Bure on "The View" here:
