Thanks to the bits of snooping done by one Reddit user, Pokémon GO players now have a clearer idea on how to best use Incense, firing up the tool with the right timing and technique to their advantage. When used correctly, this Pokémon lure can potentially generate one Mon per minute with the high probability that players can catch all of them, Comic Book reported.
The report said that as Pokémon is best playing moving around and so is the effectiveness of Incense. The rather expensive tool can quickly increase one's Pokémon collection when played accurately and wisely. And central to the trick is fast walking or what Comic Book termed as fast jog.
That is like gaining maximum speed of 7.5mph when Incense is in use. The immediate benefit is spawning of one Pokémon per minute or up to 30 of them the entire time the lure is in effect. "The spawn rate will increase to once a minute if a player travels at least 200 meters between spawns," the report said.
But be reminded that the actual numbers of Pokémon to pop up will greatly depend on how the game server and tracking system is functioning at the time of playing. In the absence of glitch or likely downtime, the 30 Pokémon to ensnare is indeed quite a possibility.
The bottom line for this specific hack is that optimal use of Incense only happens when one is moving around and all systems are going as they ought to be. It should be noted that use of the tool when sitting is not advisable as only one Pokémon will appear every five minutes or only six for one Incense, which no doubt amounts to waste of the tool.
If one though must fake walking mode in hope that the Pokémon GO app will recognize it as actually a player on the move, The BitBag recommended activating the Battery Saver mode of a smartphone. In doing so, some sort of GPS spoofing will take effect.
Apparently, when Battery Mode is turned on the app's location tracking can only rely on the Wi-Fi or network connection for it GPS reading of a mobile device, which will not be as accurate when in the regular power state, the report added.
