The Sony Z series TVs with 4k High Dynamic Range and Ultra-contrast has been announced recently. The new series will also get three models, each with different screen sizes.
According to the official press release of the TV manufacturer, this new series will be the next generation of TV display technology. It will have the ability to make vibrant colors close to the real world version. It is also the upgrade of the X series lineup, which is the current line-up for the TV manufacturer.
The new series is called the Z series due to its significance of the advancement of the TV manufacturer's technology. It also signifies that their upcoming TV series has the ultimate display technology.
Sony Electronics president and COO Mike Fasulo said in a statement that their new series is a generational advance in TV technology. This upgrades the viewing experience of 4K HDR for their customers. He also added that their new TV series is proof of their continuing commitment to deliver the best entertainment experience for everyone.
This new line-up is also using the Backlight Master Drive technology, which the TV manufacturer has used on a prototype. This new technology is a type of backlight boosting tech, which expands its brightness and contrast to achieve the true potential of 4K HDR.
To enhance the contrast further, the tech also has a dense LED structure with an accurate lighting algorithm, lighting control, and a one of a kind optical design with a calibrated beam LED. These features make the display's colors more realistic than its predecessors.
According to The Verge, the first model of the new line-up is the XBR65Z9D, which as a screen size of 65 inches, and it has a price of $6,999. The second model is the 75-inch XBR75Z9D, which has a price of $9,999. The preorder for the first two models are already available and the deliveries will be starting later this summer.
The third model is the XBR100Z9D and it has a screen size of 100 inches. This model has the largest screen size among the three models in the Z series. The pricing and availability details of this model will be announced later this year.
