"Ghostbusters" reboot recently premiered, and surprisingly, the film did very well during their weekend début.

After being criticized and judged for the production's decision to replace the original characters with female ones, the film's sudden success proved all the skeptics wrong and showed that it doesn't matter if the role is played by which ever gender, as long as the story is still in line with the original concept.

According to Masterherald, the movie earned $44.5 million during its opening and a lot of people believe that the film is going to earn more during its debut overseas.

On the same report, the film's executive producer Ivan Reitman spoke about the hate that the film got even before it actually premiered. According to Reitman, he understands the reaction of the people, especially because most of the haters were the people who grew up watching the original film.

Reitman stated that those fans were only worried that the upcoming reboot might ruin the authenticity of the original one, considering that the production made some drastic changes with regards to the film's cast members. Although, the executive producer also assured that the influence that those "Super fans" got from the original "Ghostbuster" film is still implanted in the reboot.

In other news, according to Journal Times, the reason why "Ghostbusters" reboot became successful is because of the cast's comedic dynamic that instantly worked.

The report states that Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy both pushed their weirdness and humor to an extreme level. Although the movie also featured a lot of special effects, the highlight was still the humor and the relaxed aura that the actors showed in the film.

In a more serious note, Journal times also stated that the film also promotes feminism. It stated that the "feminism in Ghostbuster's is present," just by seeing all those women characters defending the world from evil ghosts somehow feels quite rewarding.

"Ghostbusters" reboot also made people see what an equal world might look like - a reason why a lot of skeptics were trying to hate on the movie. The film showed something that a lot of people are not used to seeing, which is a bunch of girls fighting off evil.
