Actor Jackie Chan has been spotted shooting in Sydney with the cast and crew of his next sci-fi thriller "Bleeding Steel," which is to be released soon.
A popular bus stop of the University of Sydney was star-studded on Wednesday, causing students to walk to the campus, 200 meters away from the stop. The regular routes, however, were already diverted due to rainfall. The announcement of the movie was made at the Shanghai Film Festival where it was revealed that the martial art expert will be in the lead role and the shooting will begin in Australia in July.
"Bleeding Steel" is a presentation by Village Roadshow Pictures Asia and Heyi Pictures. According to Honi Soit, some parts of the movie will also be shot in Taiwan. Chan will play the role of a tough Special Forces agent who rebels to safeguard a woman from a brutal crime gang. The process leads to the development of a strong and unique bond between the two characters, which makes the actor feel that like he knew the girl in distress in the past life
Because of the shoot in Sydney, the bus stops at the University's Camperdown campus were also affected. Director Leo Zhang's sci-fi thriller showed fake "actor" students who either sat at the bus stop or on motorbikes in the scene shot in the afternoon. The real students had to suffer inconvenience while the actors role-played them.
"We are thrilled to be working with Heyi Pictures on Bleeding Steel," President and CEO of Village Roadshow Pictures Asia Ellen Eliasoph said as quoted by Deadline. "Given Village Roadshow's deep roots in Australia, the film's concept resonates strongly with us; and naturally, we are thrilled to be a part of a Jackie Chan production."
Heyi Pictures is a movie production initiative if Youku Tudou, which is the Chinese online video company. The crew members said that the film was being shot at Sydney University only for that particular day. There was no revelation of which will be the next spot in Sydney for the film's shoot.
Where Bleeding Steel is believed to be the biggest budget Chinese flick to be shot in Australia till date, Chan is the real globalist who starred in "Kung Fu Yoga" in 2015.
Jackie Chan combines action and comedy in the video by "Every Frame A Painting."
