"Grey's Anatomy" alum T. R. Knight is joining the cast of "The Catch" Season 2, which will premiere in 2017 on ABC. This marks his reunion with Shonda Rhimes as well as her fellow "The Catch" executive producers Allan Heinberg and Betsy Beers.

Rhimes said it has been "a thrilling secret to keep." She was very happy that Knight, who is one of her favorite Shondaland family members, is home.

Heinberg also said he, Rhimes and Beers are beyond excited to have Knight back in the Shondaland family. According to Heinberg, there is a role created and written especially for the "Grey's Anatomy" alum on "The Catch" Season 2.

There are still no details about the character to be played by Knight in "The Catch" Season 2 but it has been confirmed that the actor will be part of the recurring cast. The actor is represented by Gersh and Thruline Entertainment, Deadline reported.

From 2005 to 2009, Knight played Dr. George O'Malley, who was killed off in the "Grey's Anatomy" Season 5 finale.  He went on to play Jordan Karahalios on "The Good Wife" in 2013 and Johnny Clayton on "11.22.63" in 2016.

"The Catch" Season 2 episode 1 will feature Mireille Enos as Alice Vaughan, Peter Krause as Benjamin Joes, Alimi Ballard as Reginald Lennox III, Jay Hayden as Danny Yoon, Jacky Ido as Agent Jules Dao, Rose Rollins as Valerie Anderson, Sonya Walger as Margot Bishop and Elvy Yost as Sophie Novak. It has yet to be confirmed whether or not Knight's character will be introduced immediately in the premiere episode.

On the big screen, Knight is set to star in "Hello Again." Among his co-stars are "Pretty Little Liars" star Tyler Blackburn, "The Following" alum Sam Underwood, "Arrow" actor Nolan Gerard Funk, "Glee" alum Jenna Ushkowitz, "American Horror Story" actor Cheyenne Jackson and "Dancing with the Stars" Season 20 champion Rummer Willis, among others.
