KCON 2016 continues to grow its Los Angeles artist line-up with "Bounty Hunters" star Lee Min Ho on the scene. The annual fan convention aims to promote the K-pop culture outside South Korea.
The 29-year-old Hallyu star will attend as a representative for Korean dramas and films in the Los Angeles leg of the annual K-pop convention, Naver reported. He will join previously announced South Korean artists, including ZE:A's Yim Si Wan, 27, and "A Werewolf Boy" star Park Bo-young, 26.
Celebrating its fifth anniversary, KCON 2016 LA is scheduled to take place from July 29 to 31 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the Novo by Microsoft, and the Staples Center. The anticipated KCON festival promises a host of exciting activities devoted to K-pop culture and "all things Hallyu."
The three-day convention is expected to be loaded with promising performances, workshops, booths and panels, with more than 150 local vendors and businesses partaking. It is said that attendees can find booths representing various aspects of Korean culture, such as music, film, television, fashion and beauty.
Tickets sale for KCON Los Angeles' concerts started on June 3. Prices range from $50 to $250 for a single ticket or one-day pass, while $800 for an all-access platinum tickets.
KCON 2016 LA line-up also includes Bangtan Boys (BTS), Girls' Generation-TTS (Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun), CNBLUE, GFriend, Twice, Block B, DΞΔN, SHINee, Astro, and I.O.I. KCON's New York line-up, on the other hand, are Dynamic Duo, Crush, Ailee, Seventeen, BToB, BTS, Day6, Eric Nam and MAMAMOO.
Meanwhile, Lee will be making his comeback drama in SBS's upcoming Wednesdays and Thursdays TV series titled "The Legend of the Blue Sea." The 20-episode fantasy drama, which also stars veteran actress Jun Ji Hyun (aka Gianna Jun), is based on "Euo Yadam," a short-story collection of a Joseon scholar.
"The scriptwriter has thought Jun Ji Hyun and Lee Min Ho would be the perfect combination from the very beginning, and designed the characters for them," Culture Depot said in a press statement obtained by Variety. "The actors also trusted the writer and the director so much that they confirmed their participation immediately."
