The manga wrapped up, but fans of the long-running anime series are still committed to follow the franchise's adaptation. Studio Pierrot, the network behind the anime adaptation has been persistent in including as many fillers in the series as possible.
The total number of fillers put in the original "Naruto" series and its follow-up, "Naruto Shippuden," is almost maddening, according to Game FAQs. Fans that have carefully assessed the many episodes that have been released so far consider half of the anime as filler, with the original plot only being featured in few incidences.
"Naruto Shippuden" is now in its 468th episode, and evidently, the anime adaptation is still focusing on a filler arc. In 2015, many fans of the anime were shocked to discover that just a few episodes explored the original storyline. After a long wait and dealing with fillers, aficionados can expect an episode that actually explores the series' canonical storyline, according to Anime Says. The recent released 28-second peek for "A Special Mission" shows protagonists Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke prominently in their classic costumes. Episode 469 seems to be something near to those that fans have loved for years.
The "Naruto" manga is long over, with the creator of the series already backing the future of Naruto to his responsibility. Now, the "Boruto" manga, which follows the events of "Naruto," is already ongoing. The manga is receiving some substantial support from the massive fanbase of the franchise.
