Microsoft has recently announced that the "Gears of War 4" title will have its own PC-exclusive features to please PC gamers who have been bombarded with horrible console ports for the past several years.
One of the recent disappointments was Quantum Break from Remedy which was previously an exclusive title for the Xbox One. It was recently launched for Microsoft Windows but it was full of issues and bugs that were not really present in the console version which was attributed to the limits of the Universal Windows Platform.
The Redmond-based tech giant wants to assure PC gamers that the fourth installment for the popular third-person shooter GOW will not be disappointing when it rolls out. Microsoft and The Coalition said that Gears of War 4 will have its own PC-specific features such as dynamic resolutions and the unlocked framerate, Engadget has learned.
PC gamers often have problems in unlocking the framerates in console ports. Most games that come from the video game consoles have locked framerates to 30 frames per second or 60 fps at the most.
Since PC gamers have undoubtedly more powerful gaming rigs, they can run games at better framerates and higher resolutions. Some were concerned that Gears of War 4 could also have framerate lock issues as well but the developers are now assuring that it will not.
Besides the unlocked framerates, there are also other GOW 4 features that will be exclusive for PC users. Gears of War 4 is also expected to have a benchmarking mode to test out whether a user's PC can handle the game or how well it can run the title, Neurogadget reported.
There could also be other PC features that will be revealed before the game is released in the following months. It is not confirmed whether GOW 4 will have mod support just like Fallout 4 and Skyrim but it is a rare chance considering that the game is mostly a linear experience and not open-world.
Gears of War 4 will be released on October 11, 2016 for Windows PC, Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. There are no talks of a version for the Nintendo NX or the PlayStation Neo.
