EXO's Kai injured his ankle during a show and has been unable to participate in the South Korean boy band's concert held on Sunday, July 24 in Seoul.
The Korean boy group EXO jumpstarted their "EXO Planet #3 - The EXO'rDIUM" concert with a six-day performance in South Korean that started on July 22 until July 24, and on July 29 until July 31. However, Kai was unable to perform during the July 24 concert due to an ankle injury. EXO's Suho announced after the show's opening act that Kai will only appear at certain parts of the concert, Soompi reported.
The injured singer took to the stage while sitting in a wheelchair and gave his fans a quick update on his condition. It appears that Kai re-injured his ankle during the Korean group's July 23 concert performance. He also shared that he initially hurt the same leg while practicing with his co-band members for a previous show.
Kai assured his fans that his injury did not involve any broken bones, although it strained his ligaments. He also expressed his disappointment for not joining his co-EXO group members' performances on stage during the said concert date. The Korean musician even admitted that he cried when he learned that he would not be able to perform.
He also relayed an apology message to his fans for missing most of the group's concert activities on Sunday. Kai promised to keep his loyal followers updated about his health status. He stated that he will do his best to get better soon and rejoin his EXO group members on stage.
Meanwhile, another EXO member namely Lay appears to be unwell, according to allkpop. The singer was said to be "extremely exhausted" after the Korean group's "Lightsaber" performance on Sunday. Lay reportedly had a pained expression on his face as he grabbed his sides after the said performance.
During the group's talk session with the concert crowd, he indicated that he will go backstage to change his clothes and was seen limping as he left the stage. Lay later rejoined his EXO band members to complete the group's lineup of activities and performances during the said concert day.
At this time, it is still unclear if Kai will be well enough to perform with the rest of his group members for EXO's July concert series.
