Italian Serie A champions Juventus FC will face last season's English Premier League second runners-up Tottenham Hotspur in an Australian leg match of the 2016 International Champions Cup at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Tuesday, July 26.
Juventus had already played their first game in the said friendly tournament and it ended with a 3-4 loss in penalties to hometown club Melbourne Victory after a 1-1 draw during regulation time, as per Goal.
Spanish left back Carlos Blanco opened the scoring for the visitors at the 58th minute after he replaced starting defender Yoan Severin one minute into the second half.
Melbourne winger Jai Ingham equalized the count with seven minutes left before full time to send the game into a penalty shootout.
The Blues missed just one spot kick, the first one by Carl Valeri, while Juve missed two via unsuccessful tries from Roman Macek and Stefano Padovan.
Meanwhile, the Spurs will be heading straight from England for this match against the Old Lady without any friendlies under their belt so far this summer.
Tottenham will be coming off their final game in the Premier League last term, a disappointing 1-5 loss to Newcastle United at the St. James Park on May 15, BBC Sport reported.
It was a heartbreaking end to head coach Mauricio Pochettino's side as they failed to hold on to the second spot of the English top flight table to finish third behind Leicester City and Arsenal.
Both teams are coming into the game without their best players as Juve will not have goalkeeping legend Gianluigi Buffon, scorers Paul Pogba, Simone Zaza, and Mario Mandzukic, and its defensive team of Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, and Andrea Barzagli.
Meanwhile, the Spurs left first-teamers Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Kyle Walker, Danny Rose, Ben Davies, Toby Alderweireld, Mousa Dembélé, and Hugo Lloris in England while vice-captain Jan Vertonghen is sidelined by injury.
Still, the two teams have enough talent left to make the game exciting to watch as the newcomers from both squads - Miralem Pjanic and Medhi Benatia for Juve and Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen for Tottenham - will be available during the match.
The predicted result is a 3-1 victory for Tottenham Hotspur.
