"The Last of Us" release in 2013 was overwhelmingly successful, urging game developers to have its sequel in 2018.
Fans of the globally acclaimed action-adventure horror game refuse to settle the issue on uncertainty of the release of "The Last of Us 2," with the developers leaving them with too many questions on the first game.
Among other things that fans are curious about is the reaction of Ellie when she finds out that Joel killed everybody in the hospital for her, and her plans to realize her desire to help humanity through sacrificing herself, Crossmap reported. Also, fans already speculated that with the ending of the first game, it can be said that "The Last of Us 2" will be bombarded with various deaths and psychological horror.
Neil Druckmann himself previously confirmed that they are already brainstorming for ideas, twists and new characters for "The Last of Us 2," along with other sci-fi games, fantasy games and moved to building prototypes for each. His statement seemed to have cooled-off agitations from fans, but again, hyped up when the game sequel was not featured in the recently concluded E3 2016.
According to reports, fans were expecting that the developers, especially Druckmann, will announce the release and highlights of "The Last of Us 2." Nevertheless, fans still hold to a rope of hopes from the reports by Crave Online just before E3 that "The Last of Us 2" is certainly under development and would have been out after the "Uncharted 4."
Prior reports also made mention that even if the sequel of the game has previously been confirmed by the developers themselves, it is impossible to release "The Last of Us 2" before 2017 ends because of the number of twists to the game.
Another indication that the developers are very much serious about working on "The Last of Us 2" after finishing "Uncharted 4" is heightened when the latter series ended, featuring Ellie's photograph while pregnant.
