At the San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, Power Rangers reboot actors were surprised to know that Bryan Cranston will play Zordon, the Rangers' mentor.
Cranston has been associated with Power Rangers from the time it was mere a TV series over 20 years ago. He lent his voice to the rangers in the series and is once again set to be featured on the big screen for the franchise. New team members Dacre Montgomery, Ludi Lin, Becky G and Naomi Scott, as named by Just Jared Junior, when learned that Cranston will be their wise guru, they were super excited.
The feeling only of being associated with Cranston in real has keyed up the actors. "We spent a bit of time sort of collaborating through the rehearsal process with other people before it was initially established that he was going to be playing the role," Montgomery said as quoted by Entertainment Weekly. "So we had a bit of contact with these other actors, and suddenly he came into the mix, and we were all like, 'Oh my God, it's Bryan Cranston."
The stars of the reboot also shared their experience of working with Elizabeth Banks, who plays a grey shade character as the villainous Rita Repulsa. Lin said that when he saw her for the first time, she was in the suit. He added that she was more like Rita and less like Banks. "So I met Rita before I met Elizabeth," Lin said.
Power Rangers is all set to release on March 23, 2017. The rebooted version will have Zords, the animal-like robots. The Rangers use these Zords to fight the villains. The specialty of the Zords is that they have the ability to combine together into one robot.
In the movie, each Ranger will have their own chosen Zord, which is complementary to their color. The Red Rangers have Tyrannosaurus while the Blue Rangers have Triceratops. The Black ones have a woolly mammoth, the Yellow Rangers have a saber-tooth tiger and the Pink ones have a pterodactyl.
