The TV drama "Doctors" that features Park Shin Hye and Kim Rae Won will be joined by another actor in a cameo role. Namgoong Min will be making a special guest appearance in an upcoming episode.
Avid viewers of the SBS drama "Doctors" have already seen various actors and actresses appear in special roles in the show. Another South Korean star will join that list with Namgoong set to play a special character in the drama. The announcement was made by the actor's agency 935 Entertainment, Soompi reported.
The actor has agreed on the cameo appearance following the drama's producer Oh Choong Hwan's request. Namgoong and Oh previously met during the 2015 series "The Girl Who Sees Smells." 935 Entertainment stated that the producer visited the Korean star on the set of Namgoong's drama "Beautiful Gong Shim" to ask him to appear in SBS' "Doctors." The entertainment agency also indicated that the actor has decided to push ahead with the cameo appearance "out of loyalty" to producer Oh.
Meanwhile, Namgoong is set to play the role of a father who has two children in the show' upcoming episode. 935 Entertainment even teased that viewers will enjoy the actor's cameo appearance. The company hinted that some of the Korean star's sequences will be tear jerker scenes that will touch the hearts of drama's fans.
In other news, the drama appears to have encountered a slight dip in viewership ratings, according to Nielsen Korea. The ratings for the show's episode 11 and episode 12 that aired on July 25 and July 26, respectively, were lower as compared to the previous week's viewership levels.
Nationwide ratings for episode 11 was at 19.2 percent, while episode 12 posted a decline at 18.7 percent. The ratings for episodes 9 and 10 that aired during the week of July 18 were at 19.4 percent and 19.3 percent, respectively.
On the other hand, viewership ratings across the metropolitan area for episode 11 was at 21.9 percent and 21.7 percent for episode 12. If compared to the ratings for the two episodes that aired during the week of July 18, viewership levels for the said period were slightly lower given episode 9's 21.5 percent and 22.6 percent for episode 10.
"Doctors" airs every Monday and Tuesday on SBS.
