Things are heating up for South Korean drama series "W," as the main stars Lee Jong Suk and Han Hyo Joo engage in some romance sealed with a kiss. The two leads appeared on the July 24 broadcast of "Section TV," in which they shared their thoughts about the drama.
One of the topics discussed on the show was the onscreen couple's many kiss scenes in "W." When asked about it, Lee Jong Suk hinted that he has somehow grown immune to it.
"There are lots of scenes with physical contact. Because we did [the kiss scenes] so often, I grew numb to them," Lee Jong Suk said, as quoted by allkpop.
It was previously reported that both Lee Jong Suk and Han Hyo Joo grew shy around each other after they filmed a kissing scene on their first day on set. Despite the awkwardness, they managed to elicit a unique chemistry that earned the approval of the production team and the fans.
Viewers can expect a lot of kiss scenes in the upcoming episodes of "W." According to Yonhap News, Han Hyo Joo revealed that the series "has the most kissing scenes" out of all the dramas she's starred in.
"Though it was the beginning of the filming, they displayed a unique chemistry that resulted in a perfect scene," the "W" production team said about the lead stars.
"W" is a different kind of love story that centers on the relationship of a Dr. Oh Yeon Joo (Han) and the handsome hero from his father's webtoon, Kang Chul (Lee).
"It's the story of a man and a woman who discover their reason for existence while living in different dimensions in Seoul in 2016," said director Jung Dae Yoon. Romance is just one of the many aspects of "W." The series also has a mix of comedy, suspense and horror. Although "W" shifts back and forth from the webtoon dimension and real life, viewers find that the show is easy to follow
The fantasy series is already gaining a lot of attention and rave reviews from viewers, especially since this is Han Hyo Joo's television comeback after a long hiatus. Fans also find Lee Jong Suk perfect for the role of Kang, who's handsome, rich and charismatic.
"W" airs every Wednesday and Thursday on MBC.
