Famously private "The Twilight Saga" star Kristen Stewart has finally opened up about her private life. The actress has recently confirmed her relationship with the film producer Alicia Cargile, whom she first started dating in 2015.
"Right now, I'm just really in love with my girlfriend," Stewart told Elle UK in an interview. "We've broken up a couple of times and gotten back together, and this time I was like, 'Finally, I can feel again.'"
This is the first time that Stewart revealed openly that she has a girlfriend. The actress had reportedly dated Cargile briefly last year before splitting from her in October 2015. Shortly after, the "Still Alice" actress rumored to have dated French singer Soko before parting ways in May 2016.
Stewart also revealed in the interview that since reuniting with Cargile, she feels she can finally be more open about her relationship. She admitted that she decided to talk about her lover so that people do not think she is "ashamed" about being in a relationship with a woman.
Although earlier, Stewart was known to be notoriously private when it came to her love life, the same has been the subject of headlines for years. The actress famously dated her fellow "Twilight" co-star Robert Pattinson in 2008, but did not publicly acknowledge the relationship until 2012.
Stewart and Cargile have been spotted out together multiple times in the recent past. The two were snapped holding hands after their lunch at En Sushi in Los Feliz, California, on July 25, Sunday. Clad in a white T-shirt and baggy jean shorts, the actress was seen smiling as they strolled down the sidewalk hand in hand.
"They were both in a good mood, smiling, and very animated towards each other," ET quoted a source as saying.
The actress' misdemeanour outing was evidently noteworthy as the pair did not appear shy when it came to showing affection for one another publicly, involving lots of hugging and kissing. Earlier too, they were spotted sharing a smooch while out for coffee in Los Feliz, California, on July 22, after which it was being speculated that the two had rekindled their relationship.
