New details and spoilers for "The Flash" season 3 will feature the possible identity of the new speedster villain and Joss Whedon to direct an episode for the show.
It has been confirmed that season 3 of "The Flash" TV series will adapt the famous DC comics storyline "Flashpoint" in which Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin) altered the present timeline and future timeline after rescuing her mother Nora (Michelle Harrison) from being killed by Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash (Matt Letscher) during his childhood.
The SDDC 2016 trailer for "The Flash" season 3 featured Barry Allen living the "perfect" life with his parents, but changes the relationships of the people he has meet in the series such as Iris West (Candice Peyton), Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) and Caitlin Snow (Dannielle Panabaker). What makes the trailer interesting is that Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) became the speedster known as Kid Flash and a new black speedster appears on the scene and is played by "Vampire Diaries" actor Todd Lasance.
Several behind-the-scenes revealed that the design of the black speedster's costume is similar to the New 52 version Reverse-Flash, Daniel West and appears to be Wally's own "Reverse-Flash" in the new timeline, Screenrant reported.
However, other fans believed that it could be another speedster from The Flash mythos such as Black Racer, Johnny Quick of Earth 3, Zavatar, Future Barry Allen or Thaddeus Thawne III/Inertia.
In other news, TV series star Grant Gustin teased that he wants "Avengers" movie director Joss Whedon to direct an episode for "The Flash" season 3. He told ComicBookResources that he wanted to see Whedon direct an episode, after the latter was asked who he would like to see involved during a press event at SDCC 2016.
Gustin met Whedon during the event and discovered that he is a fan of superhero series claiming that Whedon has seen every episode of "The Flash" TV series.
Whedon is currently known to work with Marvel related series such as "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and has been responsible for helming two "Avengers" movies namely the first one and its sequel "Age of Ultron". Perhaps Whedon will try his luck on directing a DC TV series in the future.
"The Flash" season 3 will premiere on Oct. 4 at 8pm on the CW Network.
