Deux Ex: Mankind Divided aims to give players the chance to finish the game through a more diverse gameplay by providing more options compared to the traditional good or bad approach.
Most RPG video games today or any other titles that puts players into situations where they need to choose an action only have two options. The player can choose to do good or to do bad, which often goes punished by the game's system making it a useless choice in the bigger picture.
Eidos has recently revealed that they want to break that norm with the upcoming Deus Ex: Mankind Divided video game. One large change compared to its predecessors is that players won't have to kill the bosses in the game.
Producer Olivier Proulx from Eidos told IGN that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will not force players to kill anyone in the game. He added that the challenges will adapt to how the player wants to proceed with the objectives of the game.
There are also improved stealth mechanics in the new game. Proulx said that they believe Deus Ex should have impressive stealth gameplay for players to enjoy and to try out.
Boss fights are also changed in the game as Proulx said that there will be some "intense encounters" throughout the game and players can choose to kill or just go through another way around them. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will still have moral consequences but it won't be based on the traditional sense of good or bad choices, Cinema Blend reported.
The variety of choices in the game will also ultimately affect the ending. However, there won't be any good, bad or neutral endings in a sense but rather just a culmination of all the choices the player has made throughout the thickness of Deus Ex's plot which means that almost everything that the player does will impact what they see at the end of the tunnel.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is slated for international release across the platforms on August 23. It will be available for the PC, the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
