Former NBA player Larry Sanders had recently expressed his desire to return to the league and he did it through a social media poll online, asking his fans to vote which team they think he wants to play when he pushes through with his comeback.
CBS Sports reported that the 27-year-old center, who prematurely retired from the sport in February of 2015 for personal reasons, used Twitter to post surveys that asked "which team would 'utilize my skills the best'", hinting of a potential NBA return.
The report said that the initial tweet showed the Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks, and Boston Celtics as the options while the next one has the Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and Dallas Mavericks.
It was clarified, though, that it was not clear whether Sanders is "seriously considering" all of the listed clubs or whether these are the squads that are interested in bringing him back. He recently announced that he is ready to play for the Warriors next season, but the 2015 NBA champs have turned down his offer.
Sanders last played in the NBA during the 2014-2015 season with the Bucks. In February of that season, he suddenly announced that the agreed to a buyout with Milwaukee because he was dealing with "anxiety and depression" and he thought that it was not worth it to spend all his life playing basketball.
He then entered a program at the Rogers Memorial Hospital to treat his condition that included mood disorders apart from the two mentioned above. During that time, Sanders said in one interview that the program helped him understand "what's important, and where I would want to devote my time and energy", which led to his conclusion that "for (basketball) to be consuming so much of my life and time right now... it's not there for me. It's not that worth it."
However, he had been recently conveying that he wants to play professionally again and has talked to several journalists about it.
Lakers Nation indicated that acquiring Sanders is an interesting possibility for Mitch Kupchak and company, but it is unsure whether the Hollywood squad would be keen on getting him since they already signed center Timofey Mozgov to a long-term, multimillion deal.
