Marvel Cinematic Universe, (MCU) has a lot of expectations from the high-budget movie ''Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.'' Chris Pratt, who is reprising as Peter Quill a.k.a Star-Lord talks about his expectations from this movie.
The viewers had seen Pratt in the prequel ''Guardians of the Galaxy'' where he was abducted by the aliens and he tries to keep the group together. The Ravagers, a group of space pirates led by Yondu Udonta (played by Michael Rooker) are the aliens who keep Quill in their custody for twenty-six years.
In the prequel Quill managed to steal the orb and tried to sell it in the Nova Empire capital world, Xandar. At the end he had tricked Yondu and gave the real Stone to the Nova Corps. Also his desire to meet his biological parents was shattered in the prequel. According to The Independent, there are new characters added to the sequel, however the storyline is still kept under the wraps.
While talking to The Hollywood Reporter, the lead actor Pratt and director James Gunn talked about their inhibitions from the sequel. ''And yeah, there's going to be the big things we've come to expect from those big battles and action sequences and things like that, big colorful locations and beautiful set pieces, and wonderful designs by visual effects artists and all of us, but what really matters to me is going deeper into the characters and getting to know them more emotionally. And I think we have a story that's really, truly true for everyone and it just happens to be about aliens'' Gunn clarified further.
Gunn also confirmed that the Yondu will indeed be a member of the new crew, however, did not reveal much about the role of Nebula. He mentioned that there will be a new character added to this movie named as Mantis, and he will not have green colored skin as the readers have read in the Marvel Comic books.
While talking about the character of Quill for the prequel, Pratt had mentioned that as a kid, Quill did not have a comfortable time. Hence now he is having a good time with the good-looking alien girls and sometimes behaves like a ''jerk.'' Also, Quill found a better purpose in life after forming the group which they now call ''Guardians of Galaxy'' and that has given all of them high self-esteem.
Pratt talked about his role in the sequel to The Huffington Post. He mentioned that now Quill is matured and after saving so many lives has become responsible too. He is ready to play the role of the leader to ''The Guardians'' and even though he has become more sensible than earlier, he needs to learn a lot even now.
