Amidst the success of the movie "Fifty Shades Of Grey" where she stars, Dakota Johnson splits with her boyfriend Matthew Hitt.
According to US Magazine, Johnson and Hitt started dating in December and the latter was even mentioned in her first ever Vogue cover story. Apparently, Johnson's fame and fast paced life overwhelmed Hitt, in which, the latter felt he didn't want to be part of it.
Johnson gained fame when she landed the female lead role for "Fifty Shades of Grey," an erotic adaptation of E.L James' book with the same title. Alongside Jamie Dornan, the two became red carpet favorites and a household name for their steamy portrayal of the said movie. Johnson's hectic schedule has made it impossible for her to maintain a relationship; however, an alleged source told US Magazine that the star is seeing quite a few people and that her split from Hitt was not a big thing. Hitt is the lead guitarist of Indi rock band Drowners.
According to the Daily Mail, the ex couple were last seen together in New York, after which she started a whirlwind of appearances for the promotion of the movie. Johnson described her newly acquired fame as "overwhelming" despite being the daughter of Don Johnson and actress Melanie Griffith. She also added, "It's just the most insane thing to be part of, I've never experience anything like this; I don't think anyone has. It's terrifying and it's exciting."
Johnson made her breakthrough role in the movie "The Social Network," alongside Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield.
The movie "Fifty Shades of Grey," which stars Johnson and Dornan, is said to have made a record breaking $81.7 million dollars on its first three days. The movie, which was released on Feb. 13, was alleged to have been patronized by more middle aged women than men.
