The latest details for "Kingdom Hearts 3" will feature a rumored April 2017 launch date and the possibility of adding the Marvel and Star Wars franchise to the sequel.
Several rumors are making rounds regarding the addition of Marvel and Star Wars worlds to "Kingdom Hearts 3" following the cancellation of "Disney Infinity" video game two months ago. "Disney Infinity" features several characters from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars, as multiple sources speculated that the cancellation of the game could be the window that Square Enix needed to get the licensed rights of both franchises since the two are owned by Disney, GameNGuide reported.
Square Enix teased that two new worlds will be introduced in "Kingdom Hearts 3" and it will likely be from Marvel or Star Wars. Game co-director Tai Yasue teased several years back that adding in characters from Marvel and Star Wars is possible, but Square Enix must go through several procedures in order to gain the licensed rights.
Yasue stated that Square Enix is solely focused on the development and promotion of "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue", which is scheduled to be released on December for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. He added that it was difficult decision in their part to not showcase any new details of "Kingdom Hearts 3" during the E3 2016 event, but stated that they are working on both games this year.
In other news, its seems that a possible release date for "Kingdom Hearts 3" has been revealed as Game director Tetsuya Nomura stated in an interview that the sequel will launch in Japan earlier than the other regions.
Although, Nomura emphasized that the span will be short and "nearly simultaneous" and the global launch for the "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be announced soon. Several fan speculations claim that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will likely launch on April 2017 after the cut-off of the fiscal year, however Square Enix has not yet made a comment regarding the matter, ChristianToday reported.
Previous reports revealed that Square Enix is testing out new features in the combat system of "Kingdom Hearts 3". Yasue stated that the magical points system has "worked well", but was hesitant to rehash similar aspects moving forward.
Using magic spells, Square Enix wants to have different meanings into it, for instance when casting Blizzard, it creates a place where the player can ice skate from the ground. Square Enix wanted the magic to interact with the environment in "Kingdom Hearts 3".
"Kingdom Hearts 3" is speculated to be release on 2017 for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
