After the launch of Sony Xperia XA and Xperia X, the Japanese company may be planning to launch another new phone, which may probably be called Sony Xperia XR. It was recently revealed in high quality photos regarding Sony's new phone that were published in the media.
Although, doubts still persist regarding the new name of the Sony smartphone, but it was leaked in a report that the imminent device will carry model number F833X (F8331 and F8332). Additional pictures of the handset were recently listed on Njuskalo, the largest ads website in Croatia, according to Xperia blog.
A particular report claimed that the Xperia phone with model number F8331 will be officially called the Xperia XR, Phoneradar reported. The device reportedly has a different look than the other Sony handsets. The front side has a display cover made out of glass that is curvy on the sides.
Rumors suggest that there are front firing speakers that may be the stereo speakers. As for the phone's rear look, there is a LED flash layout. There is a separate partition appearing at the bottom, the purpose of which is yet to be revealed.
Speculations are on that the device may be crafted out of metal and there will be a lower separation for antenna bands. Another feature that appears at the bottom of the device is a USB Type-C and a 3.5 mm headphone jack at the top. If the specifications turn out true then the Xperia XR will be the first device to sport a USB Type-C, among the other Xperias.
On the sides, you can spot the power button, which will probably feature a fingerprint scanner. It is also expected that the smartphone will have a 1080p display with a 4k resolution for both the front and rear cameras. While the front is expected to be 12MP, the rear camera may be 23MP and the phone is likely to feature 3GB of RAM.
There is no report regarding the pricing and availability of the Xperia XR. Only thing is that the device will be announced at the Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) at Berlin. As for the Xperia X, it was priced exorbitantly at £459 (approx. US$600). Since Sony holds the legacy of changing its product price and upgrading its products, the Xperia XR is expected between £400 (approx. US$523) and £500 (approx. US$654).
