"Dragon Quest X" has been confirmed to get both Nintendo NX and Sony PlayStation 4 versions soon. The NX version is presumed to be version 4.0.
According to Dualshockers, the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu had an interview with the video game's producer Yosuke Saito and director Chikara Saito. They gave the update on the current state of the upcoming video game.
The producer and director have confirmed that the upcoming video game is currently in development for the Nintendo NX. Its PS4 version is also in development as well, but it was already confirmed a while ago. They said that its two ports will be its climax.
While, the 10th iteration of the video game series was confirmed recently, its 11th iteration has no confirmation of an NX port. Director Saito also mentioned that the PS4 version will be released in Japan with good timing. It will be ahead of game series' 11th iteration.
"Dragon Quest X" version 4 of the video game is currently being developed, said Director Saito. In Japan, the current version of the video game is version 3.3. It is being developed at the same time as new content for version 3.
There was no release date provided by the director and producer. The development team has already started planning a new class that will implement the new version.
In other "Dragon Quest" news, one of the video games from the franchise was offered as a free download. According to the official website of Amazon, "Dragon Quest 8: Journey of the Cursed King" was available for Android owners to download for free forever. Currently, the free download offer has been closed and can be bought for $19.99.
There was no explanation why the video game is free to download through the Amazon marketplace. The game was ported by Square Enix to mobile devices way back in 2014. The online shop maybe just wanted to give the video game away, since there was no milestone or anniversary the deal was in celebration of.
Some of the fans may not prefer to play "Dragon Quest 8" on smartphones, but it was hard to pass up the free offer. The mobile version of the video game had touch-based controls and reworked combat system. It still retained the original game's story and crafting elements.
