"Castle" alum Nathan Fillion has just landed his first TV gig after the ABC series was axed in May.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor will be appearing in three episodes of "Modern Family" in season 8.
"Modern Family" co-creator Steve Levitan made the announcement regarding Fillion's appearance in the sitcom while at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Thursday.
According to the exec, Fillion will be giving life to the character of Rainer Shine, a weatherman.
Meanwhile, the cast of "Modern Family" season 8 are all busy with their personal and professional engagements beyond the hit ABC sitcom.
Just recently, Ty Burrell hosted a youth fundraiser that is aimed at helping young talents create short films.
On Saturday, the actor hosted a cocktail party and silent auction for the non-profit organization Kids in the Spotlight.
While speaking with THR in a separate interview, Burrell said, "The biggest win of the organization is giving voice to kids that are marginalized by society and don't feel like they have a voice."
Burrell also shared that his father also worked as a family therapist in the foster-care system was the one who encouraged him to be actively involved in the challenging field.
Tige Charity, the founder of Kids in the Spotlight opened up about the organization which was founded in 2009.
"I found a group of girls sort of misbehaving or acting out, in a sense. In my moment of judgment, I had to correct myself and say these kids aren't acting up: they're just asking for attention. They just want someone to see them and to celebrate them," she said.
In other news, "Modern Family" star Ariel Winter was recently photographed wearing a sexy swimsuit.
The 18-year-old actress posted a full body selfie wearing a yellow one-piece suit during her recent vacation.
In the snap, Winter could be seen with her cleavage and thigh gap.
"Ready to relax in the spa," she captioned the photo.
"Modern Family" season 8 will premiere on ABC on Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. ET.
