Two-time WWE Divas champion Paige is currently out of action due to injuries on her back and shoulder. However, the latest rumors imply that she is also dealing with "other issues" that may cause her release from the WWE.
Paige was pulled from the WWE Tour of Australia and New Zealand last week because of her injuries and she is set to miss two to three weeks of action. According to the Daily Wrestling News, she is also dealing with personal issues that might have landed her on hot water backstage.
It is noted that the WWE purposely separated Paige from her real-life boyfriend Alberto Del Rio at the brand split. The former Divas champion might have reacted to it and caused her to get some backstage heat from top officials.
The report added that WWE insiders are worried about her future in the company and it may lead to her eventual release. Paige has not been featured in any major storyline on television ever since the failed "Divas Revolution" last year.
However, it might not be the case and the "other issues" being reported are not a serious concern, per The Wrestling Observer Radio (subscription required). Dave Meltzer said that the injuries are not a cover up for her backstage heat and she is legitimately suffering from back and shoulder issues.
The 23-year-old is set to be re-evaluated next week by WWE doctors which mean she could returning to action very soon. She last appeared on the June 27 episode of Monday Night Raw when she helped Sasha Banks defeat Charlotte and Dana Brooke in a tag team match.
Paige has accomplished things at such a young age and it is a foolish thing for the WWE to release her. She is already a two-time Divas champion and she has to be the potential to become one of the greatest female wrestlers in history.
The WWE just needs to book her properly to build up her character. There have been rumors last week that there are plans for her to feud with Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon later this year. A feud with the boss certainly has potential but as stated earlier, those were just rumors.
Nevertheless, the WWE would be smart to let Paige heal all of her injuries first before making big plans for her. Check out the video below to see Paige talk about the meaning of her tattoos on Superstar Ink with Corey Graves.
