The only Oscars host who had balls enough (pun intended) to go out on stage wearing only his tighty whities is Neil Patrick Harris. At one point of the prestigious event, he stripped down to his underwear in order to spoof a scene from one of the night's biggest winners, "Birdman."
After the first hour of the show, the star decided to stir things up a bit as he was supposed to change for his next outfit. According to E! News, the producers went backstage to look for the host and found the "How I Met Your Mother" actor near his dressing room where he was wearing a "fabulous robe."
He decided to take it off and talk about the next presenters wearing only his underwear. But before taking the mic, he first visited Miles Teller, the actor for "Whiplash" which is one of the films nominated this year, who was hitting the drums.
He then made his way to the stage revealing his undies. The scene caught Twitterverse's attention, and a lot of the viewers of the show took to their Twitter accounts to say that they are impressed with the stunt pulled off by the actor.
When the host was in the stage and wearing only his underwear, he noted that acting is a noble profession and that the future of Hollywood entertainment is in the future of young actors and actresses in the business.
The stunt done by Harris is also possibly from the request of Tina Fey of "30 Rock" and Amy Poehler of "Parks and Recreation" back in 2013 when Harris hosted the Emmys, according to Mashable. The two ladies called out on Harris from the audience saying that he should take his pants off and twerk in front of the many Hollywood stars but he politely declined.
