The internet is in an uproar as YG girl group BLACKPINK debut finally happened on Aug. 8. The group dropped two music videos - "BOOMBAYAH" and "Whistle" that received an all-kill status in various music charts.
As the new girl group is gaining steam, the profile of each member is gaining attention from the media and netizens. YG Entertainment has officially revealed the members of BLACKPINK - Jennie Kim, Lalisa Manoban, Kim Jisoo, and Park Roseanne.
Lisa was born on March 27, 1997 making her the youngest member among the four. She was a Thai national and flew to South Korea after being cast by YG Entertainment. She was part of a dancing troupe prior joining the label.
Even before her debut, she was tagged as one of the faces in YG Entertainment thanks to her unique looks. She was the model for YG's clothing line NONA9ON because of her spunk and swag.
However, past photos of Lisa emerged online that sparked questions whether she has surgery done. Her childhood photos showed that Lisa has a prominent nose - the kind that is not favored by Korean beauty standards. Her recent photos showed that she has a more defined nose bridge and a smaller nose. Moreover, it seemed that her skin is fairer compared to her old photos.
It is still unconfirmed whether she had work done or it is the result of make-up. YG Entertainment has nothing against surgery as some of its artists admitted that they had surgery done. YG is known for not looking to one's appearance, but favors talent over good looks. However, with the four girls all quite pretty, it seemed that YG is moving to a different course when it comes to selecting trainees.
