Christina Grimmie's memory lives on with her music as the first of her posthumous music videos was released on Aug. 11, Thursday. The YouTube sensation filmed four clips from her EP, Side A for the track "Snow White" of her "Ballad of Jessica Blue," where she plays the titular character Blue. Billboard will release a new chapter of the four-part series every week this month.

The debut followed after her family released a memorial video that celebrated her life and career. Grimmie was shot dead by a deranged fan on June 10 during a meet-and-greet in Orlando.

The 22-year-old "The Voice" Season 6 third placer's videos were filmed in February before her WildFire tour. It tells about the singer's character Blue, as she deals with relationship problems while prepping for a big music showcase. Like Snow White, Blue sings about waiting for the guy who will come and save her.

Grimmie's manager, Brian Teefey took to her official account in Twitter to discuss the story behind "Snow White" on Aug. 11, Thursday. The stepfather of Selena Gomez revealed on Twitter that the late singer's project is about the journey of a young girl into self-discovery via her love, music, and womanhood.

"The 'Ballad of Jessica Blue'  is a retro styled narrative and music video short film," Teefey wrote. "Jessica is torn between boyfriend issues, her creative issues and a general feeling of self-doubt."

Teefy shared how hard they worked on the project with extra long days to make sure they get the best quality with a minimal budget. The succeeding videos will be released every Thursday within three weeks. To premiere on Aug. 18 is "Anybody's You," while "Deception" and "Without Him" will debut on Aug. 25 and Sept. 1, US Weekly reported.

The slain singer's almost seven-minute clip shows a young star in a cocktail dress, or in traditional attire as she studies. She hopes to have her prince one day, a savior from a harm that has been haunting her.

"When will I be free?" the lyrics said. "Tell me some day he will come for me."

Like a fairy tale, the story has a happy ending as Blue eventually does what she loves. The singer sings from the heart, according to Rolling Stone.
