With the demise of PokeVision, many Pokemon GO gamers are clamoring for third party apps that can make it easier to hunt Pokemon. However, it should be noted that these apps could lead to permanent bans if discovered.

While Niantic Labs did its own tweaking by improving the Sightings and bringing back the "Nearby" feature, there are alternative trackers that fans can consider. The latest alternatives to PokeVision include: Compass for Pokemon, Desktop Map, Pokemesh, Skiplagged, and iOSEmus, according to Game N Guide.

Pokemon GO players are encouraged to avoid third party trackers, especially with the improvement of Sightings and comeback of the "Nearby" feature. In addition, relying on these third party apps is considered cheating just like was the case with PokeVision.

The Compass for Pokemon is one of the newest tools available now. Just like the name suggests, the app acts as a compass on how to trace Pokemon, although a major problem is that it is available only for Android. It is unclear whether there will be an iOS version of this app.

On the other hand, players who use their desktops to help them out with hunting Pokemon can go for the Pokemon GO Desktop Map. The app includes a scanner from the computer. However, a Google Map key will be necessary, possibly a non-Pokemon GO account.

The Pokemesh is an app closely related to PokeVision. Gamers can filter the Pokemon GO characters, which come in handy for players running the mobile game even if their devices are low on battery.

Pokemon GO players can also use a website-based app called Skiplagged. However, when it comes to the Skiplagged app, it only works on large cities since it depends on crowdsourcing.

The last app that can be used in place of PokeVision is the iOSEmus. Gamers should not that this app could be a high-risk alternative based on what unlicensed third party app bring to Apple devices. According to Slash Gear, iOSEmus carries most of the hacks and map scanning features besides offering some GPS spoofing trick.
