The CW is utilizing the singing talents of "Supergirl" lead star Melissa Benoist and "The Flash" lead actor Grant Gustin.
Both actors were featured in FOX's now-debunked TV series "Glee" where they typically sang their hearts out week in and week out.
According to TV Line, the crossover episode between "The Flash" and "Supergirl" will feature a musical. Executive producer Greg Berlanti told the publication, "Yes, there will be a musical crossover. There's going to be a musical pair of episodes in the back half of the year between 'Supergirl' and 'The Flash.'"
Other than Benoist and Gustin, "The Flash" star Jesse L. Martin is also a renowned Broadway actor. "Supergirl" cast member Jeremy Jordan also has a beautiful voice. Berlanti added that even "Arrow" star John Barrowman is very talented when it comes to singing. It's possible that he will also be part of the musical crossovers because Barrowman's character Malcolm Merlyn has signed on to appear in all The CW superhero shows.
Meanwhile, Berlanti also shared some of his ideas for the musical crossover, saying that some of the songs will take place in the characters' heads and not in their actual lives.
"We've toyed with who potentially the villain could be and we'll be careful how we break into song," he said.
In other news, some fans are not very excited to learn that a musical crossover will take place in "Supergirl" season 2 and "The Flash" season 3. Some fans think that doing this can just dumb down the series.
"Seems like they are making 'Supergirl' about anything but Supergirl. I have to think test markets weren't all that captivated by the actress," one fan wrote.
"Sounds like a potential jumping of the shark. You got a great cast; focus on smart story lines and scripts and skip the stunts, producers," another fan wrote.
Another fan claimed that the idea of musical crossover is very weak and it would've been fun and interesting if it took place 10 years ago.
"The Flash" season 3 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. ET. "Supergirl" season 2 will premiere on Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. ET.
