Shinsuke Nakamura has been on fire ever since making his NXT debut in Dallas during WrestleMania weekend. According to the latest rumors, Nakamura might be making his main roster debut sooner rather than later.
The King of Strong Style arrived earlier this year in the WWE after making a name for himself in New Japan Pro Wrestling as one of the best wrestlers in the world. He immediately made an impact in his debut at NXT TakeOver: Dallas when he defeated Sami Zayn in arguably the best match of the year.
Many fans believe that Nakamura is going to be the top NXT star for a longer period before making his main roster debut. The WWE's developmental system lost several top names including Finn Balor and the Japanese superstar will fill in for him as the brand continue to tour the United States and abroad.
However, it was noted in the latest rumor roundup of Cageside Seats that The King of Strong Style will likely get called up earlier than expected. He is currently in a feud with Samoa Joe for the NXT championship.
Nakamura will challenge Joe for the title at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II during this year's SummerSlam weekend. It is expected that he will win the NXT championship leading to Joe being called up to the main roster.
According to The Inquisitr, it is expected that The King of Strong Style will be assigned to SmackDown if he ever gets called up later in the year. The blue brand needs some star power and Nakamura provides them that.
The 36-year-old is possibly the most charismatic superstar in the WWE at the moment. His entrance is something to behold while his presence makes everything special. He also puts great matches almost every time he wrestles.
But for now, Nakamura is on NXT to bolster its popularity since the call-ups of stars such as Balor, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. He is looked as a special attraction and he might take NXT to another level once he becomes the NXT champion.
If Nakamura gets called up sooner than later, NXT is still set to have big names such as Bobby Roode and Austin Aries. The WWE will also sign several indie stars such as Roderick Strong and Cruiserweight Classic participants to replenish the NXT roster.
