Newly-promoted side Burnley FC (0-1-0, 0 points) will try to earn their first win in the 2016-2017 Premier League season as they host powerhouse squad Liverpool FC (1-0-0, 3 points) at their home field of Turf Moor on Saturday, August 20.
Burnley was nipped by last season's 12th place finishers Swansea City, 1-0, also at the Turf Moor during their season-opener last Saturday, as per BBC Sport.
Dutch midfielder Leroy Fer provided the lone goal in the contest for the Swans at the 82nd minute after the two teams struggled to create anything on offense almost the whole match.
It was Swansea newcomer Fernando Llorente who actually created the chance with a header that was blocked by Clarets goalkeeper Tom Heaton. But the rebound was taken by Fer and he gently tapped it in for the goal with Heaton unable to recover.
Last term's Football League Champions are said to be disappointed about not holding on for the goalless draw that would have given them their first point in the English top flight table.
The loss was said to be the first one for head coach Sean Dyche's side since December 2015 when they were still in the second division competitions.
Meanwhile, Liverpool escaped with a 4-3 victory over fellow contending squad Arsenal FC on the road at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday with Brazilian winger Philippe Coutinho leading the charge with a brace, Daily Mail Online reported.
The Gunners started the scoring with a goal from striker Theo Walcott at the 31st, which was equalized by Coutinho's first goal during the first half injury time.
With the score tied at 1-1 at the break, the Reds took the lead just four minutes into the restart with a low strike from winger Adam Lallana off an assist by newcomer Georginio Wijnaldum. Coutinho then netted his second one of the afternoon to make it 3-1 for the visitors.
Another Liverpool newcomer, winger Sadio Mané, increased the lead to three goals, 4-1, at the 63rd minute with a brilliant individual move against the Gunners' legendary keeper Petr Cech.
Arsenal tried to come back with two straight goals from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Calum Chambers at the 64th and 75th, but they ran out of time and fell short of a tie.
The predicted result is a 3-0 romp for Liverpool.
