Fans over a discussion forum are expecting to have a three-way battle among Hayama, Soma and Ryo in finals. The speculations surfaced after the series' last episode featured how Ryo fared well in his battle with Hayama, which turned out to be a tie. Fans are also expecting the anime series will be gearing towards the Stagaire Arc.
User Smudy already had an idea that the last episode was showing how Ryo was trying to hold back his aces in the first part of cooking, according to a discussion thread at My Anime List. The last episode was described by fans as "epic" and now they are having a feeling the finals will give the same experience.
It can be recalled last episode that Hayama and Ryo faced-off in battle. Although the first few parts suggested Hayama will beat his opponent, Ryo suddenly finished his dish with an astounding taste which had the judges declaring a tie between him and Hayama.
Other users expressed their dismay over the episode, saying it was rushed and it failed to portray the intensity the manga brought the readers. Others said the tie between Ryo and Hayama was expected since the opening already gave away the three-way battle for finals among Soma, Ryo and Hayama.
With all these already slated for the succeeding episodes, fans are even more expecting the finals will be intense since the judges are required to handle three consecutive dishes. There were some who are already asking how the finals episode would run, to which user, thegreatnathyboy responded the finals would run for around two episodes and leave the season with a cliffhanger.
Meanwhile, it has been recently reported the second season of "Food Wars" would only run for 13 episodes. Some fans at a forum in Reddit have questioned the length of the installment speculating that either the production would be expensive for producers or the anime series will never be continued after. SnowBreaker explained JC did not expect it to be a hit the reason why they are trying to wrap things up for the series.
