The CW's "The Vampire Diaries" is about to begin its production for the series' Season 8, and a lot of fans are wondering if Nina Dobrev would finally have her comeback and reprise her role as Elena.
Rumors about Dobrev's return stirred when the actress' made an audio appearance in the previous season, and fans instantly assumed that it's a sign for Elena's return in the series.
According to Ecumenical News, "The Vampire Diaries" has never been the same since Dobrev decided to leave the show, and fans have been asking the production as well as the showrunners to bring her back and bring DeLena back. Although a few months ago, it would've seemed impossible for DeLena's loveteam to return, but since now there's a slight chance that Dobrev might take up on her role as Elena again, surely Damon and Elena fans are rejoicing.
At the moment, the actress hasn't released any confirmation if she's cool in returning to the series; however, TVD's showrunner Julie Plec has been giving out statements, hinting about Dobrev's return. She even stated, "Not to put too much pressure on anything, Nina Dobrev, but a promise was made. An emotional promise that I'd like to see come to life. There's been friendship promises made, and now we'll see if we can deliver on them."
Meanwhile, Inquisitr reported that even if Dobrev agreed to make her comeback in the series, it seems like the actress' schedule wouldn't allow her to do so. It is said that Dobrev is already booked for a number of films this year and it looks impossible for her to squeeze in TVD's shoot.
After Dobrev decided to leave her role as Elena, a lot of gates opened for the actress. Now, it is reported that we'll see Dobrev's acting skills as she's about to take part on different films with different genres, such as the upcoming comedy film/action film "Crash Pad," "xXx: Return of Xander Cage" and the reboot of the suspense film "Flatliners."
Dobrev's return to reprise her role as Elena is still undetermined, but it seems like the production of TVD really wants the actress back; however, because of her commitments, she might not be able to have time for "The Vampire Diaries" shoot.
