Big things are expected to happen in the upcoming seventh season of "Game of Thrones" with the rise of new rulers and an impending battle. Cast members Lena Headey and Kit Harington has recently shared some interesting information about Cersei Lannister and Jon Snow.
The sixth season of "Game of Thrones" ended with two iconic characters claiming their respective thrones. Headey's character Cersei has claimed the Iron Throne following the death of her son and the annihilation of her enemies. On the other, Harington's resurrected character Jon has been acknowledged as the King of the North.
The two characters' challenges and fate in Season 7 of the hit HBO show remains a mystery. Although both cast members shared some of their thoughts about Cersei and Jon in the latest issue of The Wrap, Winter is Coming reported. In the said issue, Headey weighed in on the look that Cersei and Jamie (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) shared in the season 6 finale.
The actress stated that in Cersei's point of view, it was her way of telling Jamie that no one can stop her rise to power. She even described it as a "f--- you" moment. It appears that Cersei and Jamie may have tense confrontations in upcoming episodes. Headey even teased that Season 7 would be an interesting chapter in the HBO series.
Meanwhile, Harington opened up about the revelation of his character's true parentage. Many fans have previously speculated that Jon's real birth parents were Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. The said theory was proven to be true in Season 6.
The actor also mentioned that he has his own theories about Jon and his upcoming journey in the final seasons of "Game of Thrones." However, he refused to divulge them. Harington explained that people may misunderstand and consider what he would have said as a spoiler since he portrays the character.
In other news, Sophie Turner has shared some of the potential plot twists that involve her character Sansa Stark. The actress hinted of two directions that Sansa may choose in Season 7, Variety reported.
She teased that her character may opt to stay loyal beside Jon or take up Littlefinger's (Aidan Gillen) offer to become his queen in his quest to claim the Iron Throne. Turner even stated that her character may become a sadistic woman and a villain if Sansa would decide to team up with Littlefinger.
"Game of Thrones" Season 7 is expected to air in summer 2017.
