The latest details for "Overwatch" will feature a leaked "Free Trial" patch, a new game map next month and Bastion's animated short released.
Several gamers from the Overpwn website were able to find the patch files for the upcoming "Free Trial" feature for "Overwatch". The files are mostly lines from the "Free Trial" such as “Sorry, the Overwatch Free Trial is not available at this time,” “Group members using trial cannot enter competitive play,” and “Not available for trial.”
Blizzard Entertainment previously announced their plans to have a "Free Trial" session for "Overwatch" after NetEase president Li Riqiang revealed a partnership with his company during the ChinaJoy 2016. Li stated that the free "Overwatch" trial is a complete option by Blizzard for them to expand the game's fan base as the it garnered over 7 million players in its first week and when the company decide to implement the "free trial", its community will grow exponentially.
NetEase is Blizzard's partner and publisher of "Overwatch" in China as both companies are dedicating every time they have to make the free trial for "Overwatch" to work properly. Unfortunately, there have been no exact release date for the "free trial" for "Overwatch" as both companies will likely announce it very soon.
In other news, Blizzard announced a new game map for "Overwatch" during the Gamescom 2016 event.
The map is called "Eichenwalde" and it will be an a Assault/Escort map within the game where one team will attempt to lead a battering ram to Eichenwalde Castle, while the opposing team will attempt to defend the keep.
The map is set in a rural village outside of Stuttgart, Germany. Eichenwalde is also the site of a famous Omnic Crisis battle that saw the Crusaders leader Balderich von Alder and his soldiers making "a last stand" against an army of automatons.
While the Crusaders and Balderich were slain in battle, the Germany military eventually pushed the Omnics back, coming out victorious in the end. Balderich's remains rest on the throne inside Eichenwalde Castle. The map is slated to be released in "Overwatch sometime within September, IGN reported.
Lastly, a new "Overwatch" animated short "The Last Bastion" has been streamed and it features Bastion's story from a mindless Omnic soldier to a curious and nature loving machine.
The video starts with the activation of Bastion as he ends up in a giant forest. Unfamiliar with its surroundings, the Bastion unit followed a targeted route and has it traveled through the forest, it became fascinated by nature.
Unbeknownst to Bastion, its primary program begins to activate and it becomes a killing machine once again. As it traveled away from the forest and ended up seeing a city on the horizon. It became hostile and tries to march towards the city, but was stop by a bird that he met earlier and decided to abandoned its mission for the love of nature.
"Overwatch" is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
