The latest details for "Tekken 7" will feature a young Kazuya and Claudio Serafino in new "Story Mode" details, crossplay with all gaming platforms and a new character trailer added in the roster.
Bandai Namco announced a returning character joining the roster of "Tekken 7" as Heihachi's adopted son Lee Chaolan and his alter-ego Violet are featured in the latest game trailer. Lee is one of the prominent and recognizable fighters in the "Tekken" series and his return would mean serious problems for the Mishima clan.
He has also taken the disguised identity of Violet to become unnoticed by people who knew his face, especially the Mishima Zaibatsu and G-Corporation. Violet was first spotted in "Tekken 4" and became a separate character in "Tekken Tag Tournament 2". It is unknown yet if the Lee and Violet are two different characters or a costume change for players in "Tekken 7". In addition, Lee's backstory in "Tekken 7" will have plot his revenge against Kazuya and Heihachi and has found Lars Alexanderson to be the perfect pawn in his schemes, Gematsu reported.
Meanwhile, new game details for "Tekken 7's" Story Mode have been revealed as Bandai Namco posted several pictures of Kazuya as a young kid fighting a younger Heihachi on the mountains. It was during this week's Gamescom 2016 event that Bandai Namco revealed that the story mode in "Tekken 7" will take several hours to finished and will focus on the Mishima clan.
However, Bandain Namco also hinted that gamers can play as different characters outside the Mishima Clan and one particular person of interest is Claudio Serafino.
Claudio and his group The Archers of Sirius are tasked to exorcise supernatural beings from across the world. This highly secretive organization were suddenly approached by the Mishima Zaibatsu. They were heavy-handedly requested by the Mishima Zaibatsu to join their conglomerate, but naturally refused. However, this did not stop the persistent pressure from Mishima Zaibatsu.
Eventually, Claudio has heard the news and decides to investigate the latter to uncover its secrets and dangerous plans, EventHubs reported.
Lastly, "Tekken 7" will likely feature a crossplay for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms as game designer Michael Murray tweeted that Microsoft is interested with the idea of a crossplay for the sequel after a Twitter fan asked him about it.
Game producer Katsuhiro Harada stated before the idea of having a crossplay features for "Tekken 7" is possible, explaining that it will not be difficult to do so and it was on board for consideration by Bandai Namco.
There are some steps in which game developers must discuss first before they make their decisions. First is that Sony and Microsoft must be willing to let that happen. While Microsoft is somewhat okay with the idea, Sony on the other hand is mum about it and it will not be long before the competitiveness cools off to benefit the players.
However, since Micorsoft announce the willingness to work for a cross-play for Xbox One on other platforms, Sony will make the final decision in making the gameplay feature possible.
The second concern will be the inclusion of the PC platform to the feature since Bandai Namco already confirmed a PC version for "Tekken 7". According to Harada, crossplay with PC is much easier than doing it in the consoles. But, it also presents a problem as cheaters can create loopholes that can ruin video game experience to the gamers. Harada stated that it will be up to the gaming community to decide if they want to go through with crossplay between both consoles and PC platform.
"Tekken 7" will launch in early 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One and the PC.
