Google has revealed that it had purchased some intellectual and technological property from Softcard, Monday. It has also announced that it Wallet app will be integrated into the devices of the three major mobile telecommunication carriers T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T.
At present, Android users should download the Google Wallet app from the app store first to be able to make use of the touch and pay technology.
"Over the years, we've received great feedback from people who use this feature and we've continued investing to make it easy and secure for more people to pay with their phones," Google shared. "A big part of this is working with other innovators in the industry to help provide a seamless experience across a wide range of phones and stores," the company added.
Though Google is the company responsible for the Android operating system, it does not have autonomy over all Android devices which Apple has over its products. This has made things easier for Apple to come up with the Apple Pay scheme along with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus debut in 2014, while T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T phones pushed for SoftCard on all of their Android devices.
Google is in high hopes that this will provide its system some traction and push Google Wallet on three of the country's largest phone providers.
In January, Google was involved in talks with the biggest payment outfit, the Tech Crunch reported. SoftCard, however, has announced that its existing clients could still pay through the app.
