The legendary South Korean boy band BIGBANG will appear in CNN's "Talk Asia" next month with Seoul Correspondent Paula Hancocks in an interview at the S-Factory, Sungsu-dong, Seoul. Since their debut in 2006, the five boys G-Dragon aka GD, Taeyang, T.O.P., Daesung and Seungri have drawn many followers from all over the world as a group.
Celebrating their 10th anniversary, BIGBANG band takes the world stage with a tour. They are among the Korean artists who spearhead K-Pop's spread throughout Asia and the world. They have proven their craft for a long time and while they have developed individual careers along the way, all of them are determined to continue their music journey together.
The boys reminisced their last 10 years and gave forecast for the next decade, as they shared memories that brought them to the top of South Korea's entertainment industry. When asked why they are different, the band's leader G-Dragon said their performances is composed of multiple elements with solo parts in between and some surprise entries in the openings.
"We make the crowd excited," GD said in the CNN interview. "We think a lot about the flow of our performances and we want the audiences can feel it themselves."
With regard to the bond among themselves, Taeyang shared that they did experience difficult times before but have become friendlier to each other over time. They like each other even outside work and are happiest when they are complete.
As for their mandatory military service, the boys will deal with it normally while looking ahead for another productive decade. Taeyang said it is not something to worry about as some of their fans see it. The band's main vocalist also shared that they look forward to do beyond music and stage, and give people good influence while continue doing what they love.
As for T.O.P., he wants to contribute to the country's culture, offering new concepts or something new. As for Daesung, their contribution should always be good music and other good stuff while maknae Seungri wants to maintain what they have achieved so far, since going down could be easier than going up.
BIGBANG also released in June, "MADE the Movie," a documentary about their debut days until the present. Their latest concert tour was also titled "MADE." The quintet's successful concert "BIGBANG10: The Concert From 0 to 10" on Aug. 20, Saturday, at Seoul World Cup Stadium was one of the ways to celebrate the band's decade-long existence with their fans, Music Times reported.
