Xiaomi is holding a launch event on Aug. 25. Fresh information indicate that the Chinese firm may announce Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will be unleashed at the upcoming launch event.
TENAA, the regulatory body from China has approved two Xiaomi devices with model numbers, 2016050 and 2016060. Speculations that these model numbers belong to Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4, Times Now UK reported by citing information from Weibo. Both or at least one of the smartphones is speculated to get announced on Aug. 25.
A teaser of the upcoming launch event indicates is in Chinese. However, when translated in English, the text reads "National full metal age." It indicates that the device will be sporting a full metallic chassis. Also, a leaked photo of the alleged Redmi Note 4 box has revealed its key specifications.
The purported Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will be featuring a 5.5-inch display. It will be powered by MediaTek Helio X20 chipset that will feature a deca-core processor. It is going to equipped with a 4,100 mAh battery.
It will come preinstalled with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS that will be customized by MIUI software from Xiaomi. It will be featuring a rear camera of 13-megapixel and a selfie snapper of 5-megapixel.
It will be available in two internal storage variants. The 16 GB model will feature 2 GB of RAM and the 64 GB model will include 3 GB of RAM. It will be also coming with a fingerprint sensor.
The Redmi 4 is expected to arrive with 5-inch full HD screen, Snapdragon 625 chipset, 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel rear and front cameras, and 4,000 mAh battery. Its 2 GB RAM model will come with 16 GB of native storage whereas 3 GB of RAM variant will arrive with 32 GB of storage.
Rumors are rife that Xiaomi may announce the Redmi 4 smartphone and Xiaomi Smartwatch on Aug. 25. The rumored smartwatch is going to feature a round display and physical buttons.
Even though Xiaomi is selling devices like power banks and headphones in the U.S., it has not released any of its mainstream devices in the country. Xiaomi VP Hugo Barra has confirmed through an interview with Bloomberg that it will officially announce a device in October in the U.S.
