Mob Psycho 100 Episode 7 Review - Ritsu has finally awakened his psychic powers, and with the help of Dimple, he managed to harness his new-found ability right away. Unfortunately, Ritsu's obsession to surpass his brother Mob has sent him on a downward path, putting him in a dangerous situation.
Episode Recap:
Just when he thought he would never become an esper like his brother, Ritsu awakened his psychic power at last, though unknowingly to him at first.
But thanks to a returning Dimple, who managed to spring back to life (although in a lot weaker form) after being exorcised by Hanazawa, Ritsu was able to use his telekinesis and pyschokinises abilities right off the bat.
Ritsu's hunger for more power turned him into a new person. He has become an instrument of student council president Kamuro Shinji in his goal of cleansing Salt Middle School from thugs and delinquents by planting evidences and blackmailing gang members to turn on their leader Onigawara Tenga.
Meanwhile, Mob's complete dismantling of Black Vinegar Middle School shadow leader Hanazawa Teruki has spread like wildfire across Seasoning City. Gang leaders from different middle school have taken notice of 'White T. Poison' and placed a bulls-eye on him.
Ritsu easily defeated one of these gang leaders, but this only enrages more gang leaders to attack him, the suspected shadow leader of Salt Middle School gang White T. Poison.
These gangs went on to join forces to ambush Ritsu in an alley, hoping they can overwhelm the younger Shigeo by their sheer number. In the end, Ritsu fairly strong psychic ability is enough to drop all of his foes.
Thanks to Hanazawa, Kageyama finally learned of his brother misbehaving and decided to confront him. Meanwhile, a member of 'the Claw,' an organization of powerful psychics, is observing them from afar.
Review & Rating:
Episode 6 isn't as flashy as episode 5, which features the epic esper battle between Shigeo and Hanazawa, but it was nevertheless entertaining. Ritsu's showdown with gang leaders at the alley rightfully serves as the episode's climax. Its unique style of animation continues to mesmerize me seven episodes into the series. In the end, 'Episode 7: Exaltation - I've Obtained Loss' deserves a rating of 7/10 for keeping thing interesting for the entirety of the show.
