HP has started the Elite X3 preorders in the U.S. Its specs and features indicate that it is the most powerful Windows 10 Mobile smartphone.
The HP Elite X3 was announced during the Mobile World Congress 2016 even that was held earlier this year. However, the company did not make the flagship smartphone available for purchase at that time. However, now it has started selling the Elite X3 in various parts of the world.
HP Elite X3 - Most Powerful Windows 10 Mobile Smartphone
Before the announcement of HP Elite X3, the Lumia 950 XL powered by Snapdragon 810 chipset and Lumia 950 fueled by Snapdragon 808 chipset were the most powerful Windows 10 Mobile smartphones. However, the Elite X3 is powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset. It is the same SoC that powers numerous Android flagships of this year such as Galaxy Note 7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S7, HTC 10, LG G5, Sony Xperia X Performance, Moto Z, OnePlus 3, and more.
HP has timed the release of Elite X3 well as Microsoft has recently released the Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary update. It is not sure whether the smartphone will come preloaded with the latest software, but its customers will soon be able to install it after purchase.
Its specs include 5.96-inch Quad HD display. The SD 820 chipset is supported by 4 GB of RAM. It comes with a native storage of It has a rear camera of 16-megapixel and a front-facing camera of 8-megapixel. Its other specs include iris scanner, fingerprint scanner, USB Type C connector, dual-SIM support, wireless charging and 4,150 mAh battery.
HP Elite X3 Preorders
The HP Elite X3 is available with a preorder price of $799 in the U.S through the Microsoft Store website. Customers who purchase it through Microsoft will get a free HP Desk Dock for using it for the Continuum feature of the phone. The preordered units will start shipping from Sept. 12.
The dual-SIM variant of the smartphone will be released in certain regions of the world. HP has confirmed that it will be releasing the HP Elite X3 in 47 countries. Some of the countries where the Elite X3 will be available include European nations, Australia, India, Japan and more, Windows Central reported.
