Popular 1980s rocker Rick Springfield recently caught up with Billboard and discussed about his recent gig on TV as Lucifer in the CW's "Supernatural" Season 12. There are also news that Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) will be at odds as they do their jobs in the new season.
Springfield, who is both a singer and a seasonal actor, expressed his excitement in playing Lucifer in "Supernatural" Season 12. The rock icon showed his acting prowess in previous stints including "Californication" and "True Detective."
"I play this rock guy who gets possessed by Lucifer, because Lucifer has just escaped from wherever they put him last season," Springfield told the Billboard. "He's always looking for a human host to do this bad stuff to the world, and I happen to be that human host.
Springfield seemed to enjoy playing the villain in "Supernatural" Season 12. While talking to the publication, he could not help but appreciate the script, and how he is enjoying in the production. The rocker shared that he spent two hours sitting in the makeup chair the other day for his scene.
The singer admitted that he had heard about the fantasy/ horror TV series , but he has not seen it before. He never thought that "Supernatural" is so popular and has a huge number of followers.
In an interview with BuddyTV, Executive Producer Robert Singer revealed that viewers could expect to see the Winchester Brothers at odds in the first few episodes of "Supernatural" Season 12. He said that Sam and Dean will have better relationship this year, but as the series goes on, viewers may begin to see the conflict between the two.
Singer also shared that the British Men of Letters and the Winchester Brothers will clash because they have different strategies in fulfilling their jobs. The beginning of the new season will see the hunt for Lucifer, who will first inhabit the body of Springfield. Sam will be in trouble and Dean will spend time searching for him.
As Mary (Samantha Smith) returned in the previous season, she will feel very uncomfortable dealing with her two sons in "Supernatural" Season 12. Sam and Dean are excited to be with their mother after 30 years, but it seems that the new season will see a different happening in the newly reunited family.
