MBC's 2015 hit-drama "Kill Me, Heal Me" will be remade for the Chinese market. The 20-episode medical drama, which starred Ji Sung and Hwang Jung-Eum, aired on MBC from Jan. 7 to March 12, 2015.
The hit medical drama "Kill Me, Heal Me" will be remade under the title "Seven Egoes," according to local media outlet Sina, as cited by All Kpop. The Chinese remake is slated to begin filming soon.
According to the news outlet, the lead roles of the Chinese remake will be portrayed by younger actors as opposed to its original version. "Seven Egoes" will also be categorized as a thriller-idol drama. More details about the Chinese remake will be revealed soon.
MBC's "Kill Me, Heal Me" was one of the most viewed K-Dramas on the web in 2015. It was well-received among the audience in South Korea and internationally due to its story line and Ji's vivid acting skills.
Helmed by Kim Jin-Man and Kim Dae-Jin, the 20-episode drama follows a third-generation business heir, Cha Do Hyun (Ji), who developed dissociative identity disorder in the aftermath of several life-threatening traumatic events. He has six other identities: an eager man with a devil-may-care demeanor Shin Se-Gi, a 40-year-old man with a liking for fishing Perry Park, an extrovert teenager Ahn Yo-Na and a suicidal artist, Ahn Yo Seob.
Cha Do-Hyun's fifth personality is a 7-year-old girl, Nana, who is said to be the epitome of his childhood fears. His sixth personality is a mysterious guy, Mr. X, who is later revealed as the father of Nana.
Cha Do-Hyun tries to regain control over his existence with the help of a first-year psychiatry resident, Oh Ri-Jin (Hwang). The series, which also stars Park Seo-Joon, Oh Min-Suk, and Kim Yoo-Ri, won the top prize in the K-drama section of the 10th Seoul International Drama Awards, The Kpop Herald reported.
