Niantic Labs has been banning cheaters, and a few weeks ago, the company instituted a permanent ban policy. According to reports, it is now taking one additional step to block fraud, and it is a new captcha feature meant to authenticate gamers to ensure that they are not robots.
This feature will prevent gamers from using third-party trackers and bots to avoid the rules while capturing them all.
The company has not begun using the feature yet. Once the captcha feature enabled, it will make it hard for gamers to use third-party services.
It is just a matter of time before hacks cease working. Steven Bartell, Insta-PokeGo creator, said that it will be actually difficult to crack. The service was used to capture 3.3 million creatures in less than one week but will be closed to prevent account bans.
FastPokeMap is an example of a service that tells players where creature spawn on the map is. However, the service may be going down as soon as the company implements the security measure.
Nobody is certain whether mapping trackers will be affected because it actually depends on how the company uses the captcha. If Niantic uses it when gamers spin a Pokestop or attempt to capture a Pokemon, maps can be fine.
However, if the company uses the captcha when it sees any kind of suspicious behavior, the maps can be in trouble too.
