Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) will become a minion for the new big bad in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, according to executive producer Julie Plec. However, she did not reveal the character Damon is going to be a minion for.
"Damon has unfortunately become a little bit of a servant to an evil who has an opinion on what should happen to people who do bad things," Entertainment Weekly quoted Plec as saying. "He's a little bit of a minion at the moment, and we'll have to learn who he's a minion for and why."
In "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, Damon will be under the control of this mysterious character. Somerhalder's character will be a judge, a jury and an executioner.
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 episode 1 titled "Hello Brother" will introduce several new characters. Among them are Sybil, Cindy and Seline played by "UnREAL" alum Nathalie Kelley, "Hit the Floor" alum Katrina Norman and "Containment" alum Kristen Gutoskie, respectively.
Joining Somerhalder, Kelley, Norman and Gutoskie in "Hello Brother" are Paul Wesley, Kat Graham, Candice King, Zach Roerig, Matthew Davis, Michael Malarkey and Allison Scagliotti. They will reprise their respective roles as Stefan Salvatore, Bonnie Bennett, Caroline Forbes, Matt Donovan, Alaric Saltzman, Enzo St. John and Georgie.
Nina Dobrev is also set to reprise her role as Elena Gilbert in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 episode 16. In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, The CW president Mark Pedowitz said the actress was integral to the supernatural drama series developed by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec based on L.J. Smith's book series of the same name.
According to Pedowitz, Plec has planned for a great "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 finale for fans. It has been announced that the eighth season will be the last.
